The company LU was founded in 1846 by Mr.Jean Romain Lefevre & Mrs. Pauline Isabelle Utile, in Nantes France as a small bakery shop.

Petit Beurre, its most famous biscuit, has meaning of "small butter biscuit." Nowadays, LU is the French leading biscuit brand, well-known worldwide. Their tasty biscuit series are very popular among many countries worldwide.

From 1986, LU belongs to Danone Group.
